About
Welcome to NEX.T LAB, a laboratory dedicated to systems innovation in the space of energy and sustainability. The LAB brings together like-minded researchers who have a passion to employ systems engineering techniques, through systems thinking philosophy, to make impactful solutions for contemporary grand challenges, particularly climate change and energy transition.
The LAB name "NEX.T" is a composition of two words, "Nexus Technology", referring to a world where everything is interconnected and any sustainable solution requires a lifecycle and "system of systems" approaches. Our core focus is well stated by the late Donella Meadows:
“You think that because you understand “one” that you must therefore understand “two” because one and one make two. But you forget that you must also understand “and.” Our LAB works on the "and".
The Lab logo, with circles at different completion levels, refers to various extents of holistic thinking and circularity, from cradle-to-gate to cradle-to-grave, and cradle-to-cradle (i.e. full circularity)

We believe the future of smart living intersects with being "digital", "circular", and "connected" with user "behaviour" as the core. Our R&D strategies are formed around this vision.
